AT ISAKS TREE FELLING

A big day in Malmköping

We visit Isaks Trädfällning, a real family business

On a beautiful autumn day we had agreed to meet the company Isaks Trädfällning in the field just north of Malmköping not far from Flen. After a few miles of increasingly narrow roads, we arrived at the workplace for the day, a summer house with older pine and deciduous trees that the owners wished Isaks Tree felling to remove safely and efficiently.

The work to take down the trees was already in full swing and Isaac (whose real name is Robert) and his two sons Felix and Lucas, who work in the company, had removed much of the cut branches and rice with their Iron Horse Essenence, which was currently equipped with the arboristgripen AG300 accessory.

Handling rice and branches is a big part of a tree feller's everyday life. It takes a hefty rice grab to get as much as possible.
It is important to keep track of ropes and hooks and work systematically when at 10-12m height..

It is immediately struck how important it is to have order in a workplace like this, both for its own safety, but also because no unauthorized persons are at risk of being harmed. Access roads and paths leading to the plot are well cordoned off with plastic straps and clear signs.
Ropes, ropes and other tools required for the work are placed appropriately so as not to end up faulty in the actual removal of the tree trunks.
The guys communicate with their headset which is integrated into the safety helmets and the work is done methodically and safely.

After we got to see how the work is done and of course how the Iron Horse Essence with the Arborist grapple is used, we also got the opportunity to talk a little more with Isak and his sons during a coffee break.
He told us a little more about the company Isaks Trädfällning and how it all started several years ago when, after working with completely different tasks in the IT world, he felt like saddling up and investing in something that felt a little more "real". Growing up as he was from childhood with forestry, tree care became a natural choice. Being able to develop the company and work with his two sons is also a fantastic opportunity.

Isaks Trädfällning starts from Eskilstuna and takes jobs mainly south of Lake Mälaren and they are very well liked by their customers. Those of us who visited them on this day also saw how meticulous and efficient they were and how they restored the garden after harvesting away several large pine trees and hauling away several loads of rice and branches. Their conscious choice of working machines such as the Iron Horse Essence also means that the damage to the grass surfaces is minimal due to its low ground pressure.

We took the opportunity, of course, to ask how the machine from Lennartsfors worked and we found that the concept of a radio-controlled, tracked machine equipped with the Arboristgripen is something that is suitable for the tasks we have seen performed. There were some opportunities for improvement in the design of the clone itself that we brought with us and we also need to look at the possibility of increasing the lift height. The machine we looked at lacked a minor update in the hydraulic system, but as soon as this one is installed, some movements in the lift will also become a little softer.

If you want to know more about the Iron Horse Essence and how the machine can be used by arborists and tree fellers, you can find more information here.
You can also order more product information and price information.
If you want to have the opportunity to try or get a demonstration yourself, please contact one of our talented dealers.
